Don't Miss Black Comedy by Peter Shaffer!
Brindsley, a struggling artist, and his fiancee Carol are preparing to host Carol's father, the Colonel, and a famous art collector, George Bamberger. In order to impress them both, they have 'borrowed' the furniture from Brindsley's neighbour who collects antiques, without his permission. Disaster strikes, and the lights go out! The evening devolves into ruin when the neighbour comes back, as well as Brindsley's ex-girlfriend/affair partner, and he must return all of the furniture and hide his girlfriend, all while maintaining the illusion of control.
Who is ChickenScratch?
ChickenScratch Theatre was started by best friends Lottie and Anne-Marie, and aim to make theatre that is fun, but also politically and ethically conscious. Almost all of the set and costume for Black Comedy is second hand, and we aim to make people laugh, and bring some cheer to the general public. We hope you enjoy!
