“Bisous” or kisses, is a series of Movement Labs from Emma Leech, a senior, international 5Rhythms teacher of 24 years standing. The Bisous series draws on the wisdom of Gabrielle Roth’s God, Sex and the Body, to which Emma is an apprentice.
“Masks of The Feminine” is a metaphor for blockages to the expression of our deep, intuitive, creative feminine parts. Here we’ll take time to step out of our habitual roles, away from dogmas that bind us, and overcome our stuckness, our inertia. The Lab will reveal where we ignore, misuse, control or deny our body’s vital feminine energy – and dance will unleash it!
There are many facets of the feminine that apply to all genders. We will be working with the universal Mother, Lover and Spirit.
Mother: exploring our mothering nature, the part of our soul that cares for us and others, nurtures and earths us here and now, in our fleshy animal Body
Lover: playing with the seductive, flirtatious soul part, tracking emotional landscapes, connecting us to ourselves and others, in our dear open Heart
Spirit: honouring the mysterious, most sacred, enigmatic soul aspect, the part that is most inspired whilst listening to the silence, in our every sweet Breath
Come join us for a day that will release feminine Flowing energy right to your very edges – free and fluid, alive and awake.
Prerequisites: Minimum of either five taught 5Rhythms Waves classes, or extensive experience of another embodiment practice.
We are led by Emma Leech, an internationally renowned, highly experienced teacher who qualified with Gabrielle Roth 24 years ago. "The 5Rhythms Movement and dance meditation is my life's work, I feel privileged to have been able to bring it to diverse communities. It has given me witness to the most profound depth and beauty in the artistic movement enquiry of human experience, both dark and light. I have been dancing the 5Rhythms movement meditation practice for over 30 years and after diving into the practice for my own self healing from trauma for ten years, I took the path as a teacher of the practice and trained with Gabrielle Roth the founder, to teach in 2001. Since then, I have travelled to different parts of the Globe and London’s suburbs taking the dance to a wide audience of disadvantaged communities, prison, addiction recovery and youth at risk and children living in the slums in Kolkata India. This disparate range of communities has become invaluable in expanding my teaching skills and insight into all walks of life, keeping me plugged into a reality of human survival where this dance can be of real service. My background is in the Arts, theatre and visual, my approach to the work of the 5Rhythms is inspired by my passion for the artistic and Soulful threads. I have the privilege of working and collaborating with Lorca Simons with her LiveWire theatre labs, and am working with actors in Rome and Naples, where I have been developing dancing communities over the past 8 years. But Penge is where I was born and my dancing began. I am so glad to be back teaching 5Rhythms at what was Royston Hall, where I ran Funky Fridays for five years from 2013. Penge is my roots."
