After more than 30 years supporting women and families as a midwife, the stars aligned and the opportunity finally came to open a beautiful studio space in Torquay, South Devon, dedicated to pregnancy, birth and early parenthood. Birth From Within has arrived in Torquay.

After more than 30 years supporting women and families as a midwife, the stars aligned, and the opportunity finally came to open a beautiful studio space in Torquay, South Devon, dedicated to pregnancy, birth and early parenthood. This time last year, at business networking events, my introduction usually went something like this:

“Hi, I’m Tess. I offer classes, workshops and support groups… I’m a virgin at business and an expert in vaginas.”Who knew that just a year later I’d be opening the doors to my very own space?

The past year has felt a lot like pregnancy. I’ve had to nurture myself, keep myself healthy, trust the process, listen to wise voices around me and remember that this journey, like every birth, is completely unique. And now, I’ve finally birthed this space.

Like any new parent, I feel a mix of excitement, delight, a little overwhelmed and yes… slightly terrified too. But I’m trusting my instincts, accepting support and stepping into my power as I watch this space grow into something really special for our beautiful community. And I would love you to come and celebrate the beginning with me.
