Jazz Central is a mentoring programme, pairing six international jazz stars with six emerging stars (all Midlands-based). This follows the successful first year of the programme in 2023 which culminated in a festival and Midlands tour. The scheme is run and managed by Jazz Midlands with Arts Council England financial support.As part of the application process all of the young musicians explained what they would like support with to develop as professional artists and also put forward a shortlist of established names they would like to be paired up with. Where possible we have tried to make that happen!
The festival in Birmingham is a culmination of what the mentee and mentor artists have been working on over the preceeding months with brand new music being presented for the first time.

Festival format:
Friday 6th Sept - 1 show (8pm)
Saturday 7th Sept - 3 shows (2pm/5pm/8pm)
Sunday 8th Sept - 2 shows (2pm/5pm)
Various combinations of tickets available for weekend, day or individual shows. Members discounts and special rates for students.
All events take place at 1000 Trades, 16 Frederick Street, Birmingham, B1 3HE. Bar and food available to purchase downstairs.
