EVENT DETAILS:
The Los Angeles chapter of the Feminist Bird Club is holding another bird outing! Join us for a Saturday morning outing at Earvin "Magic" Johnson Park in the Willowbrook community of south Los Angeles. There are ponds and grassy fields that will be sure to attract a variety of different bird species!
This is a beginner-friendly event and all are welcome, especially LGBTQ and BIPOC-identifying folks, people with disabilities, and women.
We'll meet outside of the community center building at Earvin "Magic" Johnson Park at 8 AM.
Bring a mask/face covering if you'd like and binoculars if you have some (we'll have a few pairs to lend).
Space is limited, so please be sure to RSVP.
PARKING INSTRUCTIONS:
There is a parking lot adjacent to the community center building. You can use a maps app to navigate to 12645 Wadsworth Ave, Los Angeles CA 90059. Park in the first lot you encounter on the lefthand side when you turn onto Wadsworth. Coordinates are approximately ( 33.917714, -118.260514) There is another lot on the right hand side of Wadsworth that is further away from where we'll be meeting.
ACCESSIBILITY:
The route we'll take is flat and starts as a concrete sidewalk that turns into a decomposed granite path around the ponds. The park is owned by Los Angeles County and claims to be ADA-compliant. If you have any questions about accessibility, please reach out.
