Bird Ringing Demonstration

Each year, professional ornithologist Bill Haines runs a public demonstration of bird ringing. Observe and learn about this process in which birds are humanely caught, recorded and ringed. Bird ringing is an important tool aiding our understanding of bird species and their populations and movements, both locally and internationally.

This is a free drop-in event, starting at 7.30am and running until 11am, but be aware that more species are found earlier in the day. Please make your way to the Holland Park Wildlife Area.
