Trombonist and singer Bill Jones will bring his Renaissance Swing Band back to the Edinburgh Jazz 'n Jive Club!Including some of Scotland's finest exponents of hot, swinging dance music, this ensemble is ideal for those who enjoy Lindy Hop, Jive and Foxtrot. In return, the band finds inspiration from the dancers for whom they love to play. The band's of course also great to listen to!
The band's line-up for the evening, in addition to Bill, is Mike Daly on cornet, Martin Foster on reeds, Campbell Normand on piano, Roy Percy on double bass and Jim Drummond on drums.
The Edinburgh Jazz 'n Jive Club offers on Fridays live Jazz music in a relaxed club house atmosphere, with a bar and an excellent, wooden dance floor. The music is generally suitable for dancing Foxtrot and Swing (Lindy Hop, Shag, Balboa). Come along to listen to superb Jazz and to dance the evening away!
No need to book in advance, just come along! The entry fee is £15 for non-members and £12 for members. Entry is free for accompanying carers and accompanied children. The fee can be paid at the door by card and cash. The main entrance is from Bangholm Terrace, with step-free access from Warriston Gardens corner Inverleith Row.
