About this Event
If you are bike-share-curious, this free activity is for you and will include prizes, giveaways, lessons in using Metro Bike Share (MBS) and incorporating it seamlessly into your life.
On this ride we will explore the route to different community sites in and around Westwood. Starting in the heart of Westwood Village we roll south to Stoner Park Recreation Center, Ohio Ave (designed and near future infrastructure), the Expo Bike Path (the jewel of Westside bike infrastructure) and Westwood Blvd. (site of infrastructure development). This ride will be approximately 7 miles on city streets. There will be some mild hills on this route.
We'll meet at Broxton Plaza for a brief introduction to the Metro Bike Share System and road safety. Riders on Metro Bike Share Bikes will be provided with a helmet. Riders are welcome to join the fun on their own bikes - helmets are required. Free Metro and Walk 'n Rollers swag included
NOTE: All Metro Bike Share riders must be over 16 years old. The first 15 registered riders will have access to a free MBS bike and helmet. You are welcome to join the fun on your own bike if MBS bikes are sold out.

About the Los Angeles Better Bike Share Partnership Living Lab Coalition:
Metro has a plan to make it easier to get around, including filling the gap between Metro Bike Share’s Downtown/Central LA and Westside service areas. This expansion project will ensure continuous service coverage and provide additional connectivity between Metro bus and rail services like the D, E, and K lines.
Our program partners are planning activities to build excitement for the expansion. Rides, workshops and engaging activities that include giveaways, Metro Bike Share passes and more!
Committed to the equitable expansion of Metro Bike Share (MBS), the Los Angeles Living Lab Coalition, funded by the Better Bike Share Partnership (BBSP), includes BikeLA, Los Angeles Walks, Walk ‘n Rollers, CicLAvia, and Metro. The coalition partners will work together to inform this expansion effort, with the goal of fostering excitement for Metro Bike Share in diverse communities across Los Angeles.
