What are you doing this World Bicycle Day?

It's coming up on June 3, but we know you'll be busy on weekdays so come join us on June 7 from 7am to 10.30am during KL Car Free Morning for a leisurely, around 8km bicycle ride, while getting to know like-minded community!

We'll start at Menara Sentral Vista (Mamak Cafe, Ground Floor), cycling along the River of Life before gathering at Dataran Merdeka to join the short 2km loop, before heading back for brunch.

You'll also get to learn a bit more about road safety for school zones and safer street designs from Bike Commute Malaysia (BCMY), and a bit about Greenpeace's ongoing Clean Air campaign in light of the predicted Super El Nino.

Roads open to cars again at 9am, so don't come Malaysian timing ah ;)

Here are some safety tips to look out for:
1. Bring your own road worthy bike with brakes.
2. Recommend to wear helmet, bright color clothes, shoes or sandals.
3. Follow advise of Marshals, Leaders and KLCF officials.
4. Follow road code and traffic rules .
5. Bring own water bottle (about 1 litre).
6. Bring a small first aid & bicycle kit (optional).
7. Wear sunscreen!

Info: Our meeting point will be in front of Menara Sentral Vista (ground floor corner of Mamak Cafe), which will be the start and end of our cycling route.

Info: We start out by cycling along the River of Life (ROL) to Dataran Merdeka.

Info: We'll have our first rest stop with a group photo in front of Dataran Merdeka and Menara DBKL, followed by a ride through a 2km route.

Info: Cycle back to Sultan Abdul Samad Building and ride back along ROL to Greenpeace's office at Menara Sentral Vista

Info: A representative from Bike Commute Malaysia (BCMY) will be sharing on the topic of safer street designs and the 30 kph school zone campaign; while brunch is served.

Info: Greenpeace Malaysia will share a bit about the Clean Air campaign, and the possible impacts of the looming hazards of the predicted Super El Nino.
