Let's escape the crowds & over populated trails, in search of small-town vibes with epic views!

This gorgeous canyon trail in Larkspur, California offers a captivating journey through the heart of nature's beauty. This picturesque trail winds through a lush, forested landscape, where towering redwood trees create a serene canopy overhead.
Hikers are treated to the soothing sounds of babbling brooks and the occasional glimpse of local wildlife. The trail's gentle terrain makes it accessible for hikers of various skill levels, and it provides a peaceful escape from the bustling city life of nearby San Francisco. With its tranquil ambiance and natural splendor, the Baltimore Canyon Trail is a hidden gem for outdoor enthusiasts seeking a rejuvenating retreat in Marin County.

What to Expect:
This wonderful trail meanders through the forest and if we're lucky we'll get to see a beautiful seasonal waterfall. While this trail can be popular, it's nowhere near as crowded and over-run as many other trails around Mt. Tam. This trail is rated as "Moderate" according to AllTrails.

Trail Details:
5.9 miles that takes an average of 2.5 hours to complete. 616 ft of elevation gain
Cross a footbridge over Larkspur Creek, an important tributary of the Corte Madera Creek watershed. Don't miss 30-foot Dawn Falls when it's running strong.
Towering redwoods everywhere in the forest section of this hike
See the remnants of an old quarry, where blue basalt was taken for a dam and other projects back in time. There's a bit of ROCK-n-ROLL history here too... Janis Joplin and Jerry Garcia both lived in homes near the Dawn Falls Trail.

Event Includes:
Great trail with minimal elevation gain
Experience a top rated Marin hike with VIEWS
Light trail snacks & sandwich lunch
Bag lunch for on trail!
An adventurous host with insider trail knowledge

What to Bring:
Backpack for all your essentials
Layers and rain jacket, just in case
Make sure to fill your water bottles before you leave home
Dogs are welcome. Dog must be leashed on trail, and under voice command on fire roads, with leash readily available.
Attire:
Wear comfortable hiking shoes and dress in layers so we're prepared for whatever the weather will throw at us! The trail is a mixutre of exposure and tree coverage, so be prepared for both. Bring a hat, rain jacket, sunscreen and sunglasses! It's also the coast, so it could get windy. Again, LAYERS!
