It was a surprisingly influential mix that would inspire an entirely new wave of British rock artists who openly embraced their Celtic heritage. BIG COUNTRY achieved major international success plus two Grammy nominations and for a time rivalled fellow "big sounding" British guitar rock acts U2 and Simple Minds.
