Welcome to the Big Box Book Bash!

Call this the wonderful combination of a book reading and a performance. Smiling Box Monster, the debut novel by Charlie Matthews, a full blown Roger's Parker, will be exhibited through the mix of a reading and two short scenes from the book. Smiling Box Monster is a true story, with fictionalized characters, about the perils and outright inhumanity of working for our beloved E-commerce behemoth - Amazon. What would we do without Prime? This event may make you rethink that.

This event will be held on June 1 at Janelle Walker's fabulous flat, 1126 W. Morse, the entire third floor, where Morse meets the lake. Purchase your ticket in advance to reserve your spot for the event that will be limited to 50 people.

The event will include the reading/scene performance, live music with vocalist Nadia and Sean the Piano Man, free hors d'oeuvres, and an open bar for the very modest price of $15 in advance, and $25 at the door. In addition, the paperback of Smiling Box Monster, a $30 value with shipping and tax, will be sold for $10 at the event. After the performance, a Q&A and book signing by Charlie will wrap up the event. Here's the itinerary:

4:30 - Doors open

5:30 - Performance begins, reading and Scene I

6:00 - Intermission, with live music

6:30 - Reading resumes, and Scene II

7:00 - End of performance, Q&A, Book signing, linger.....

7:30- End of event
