About this Event
Hunters, pollinators, potters, paper-makers, DNA hijackers, zombie-makers—dozens of wasp species call Green-Wood home. And most are completely harmless to humans. In this presentation, urban naturalist Matthew Wills will introduce the major types of local wasps, revealing their surprisingly varied survival strategies, including how they weather our winters. You'll discover why these misunderstood insects are essential to Green-Wood's ecosystem and why the Cemetery is equally vital to them. By the end, you'll see there's nothing to fear from wasps and so much to appreciate!
