Format -
This is an open format competition; there is no limit as to what you may enter or how many times you enter your selected categories! If you want to enter busts, Warhammer, Gundam, or even military scale models, all is welcome and encouraged at Beyond The Brush!
Categories
Standard -
This category ranges from those who are new to painting, to those who are new to painting competitions.
Advanced -
This category is for painting competition veterans, for those who have succeeded in other competitions. If you have competed in a painting competition before and placed, this is the category for you!
Under 16's -
This category follows the same rules and judging as the others, the only limit is that all entrants have to be 16 years old or younger.
Challenge Category: Environmental Storytelling -
The theme is all about highlighting the important role that basing plays by having all entries in this category be solely bases. You can have parts of miniatures as basing elements. But you should avoid having entire miniatures visible. They should also be Inanimate, e.g. Avoid having “living” miniatures on the base.

Judging-
Judging at Beyond The Brush will be quite different compared to a traditional painting competitions. Instead of awarding a single Gold, Silver, and Bronze award in each category, we will be awarding multiple awards to every piece that achieves the Gold/Silver/Bronze standard.
For example, say there are 5 entries in the beginner category that are at what the judges deem to be silver standard, all receive a silver award, same with gold and bronze!

All prizes are awarded by the judges, with the exception of community favourite, which will be voted for on the day by those present!
