What to expect
Group Discussion and Q+A with Dr. Marie Thouin, Pauline Romas and Ayala Kalisher. Author Dr. Marie Thouin will delve into some of her research on compersion, and share findings from her book What is Compersion? Together we’ll explore the concept of compersion, how it shows up for each of us, and where we feel challenged. We’ll explore how compersion can enhance our relationships and community experience. We'll explore how to bring mindfulness into not only our interactions, but our approach to dating and connection.
Wisdom Sharing:
Learn from the experiences of other in the CNM space; whether you’ve been living into CNM for decades, or just dipping your toe in—com share your insights, questions, and experience with others.
Slow-Friending:
Think speed-dating, but slower, without agenda, and centered on connection building rather than “pick-ups.” humhum will facilitate a connection experience inviting you to engage in meaningful conversations that prioritize depth and authenticity.
Tea After Hours:
From 9-10pm, join the after par-tea! Chat further with new connections, enjoying tea on the house.

About your hosts
Dr. Marie Thouin
Dr. Marie Thouin (she/her) is the founder of Love Insight Dating, a mindful dating coaching practice where she supports growth-minded people of all ages, genders, orientations, and relationship styles to create soulful relationships. She holds a PhD in East-West Psychology from the California Institute of Integral Studies, and is the author of "What is Compersion? Understanding Positive Empathy in Consensually Non-Monogamous Relationships," the first-ever comprehensive scholarly book on compersion. Her work has been featured in several publications and podcasts, including ELLE, the Savage Lovecast, The Times of London, and HuffPost. @drmariethouin
Alexandra Ballensweig (they/them) is the founder of —a platform and community that fosters healthier dating experiences and authentic connection through mindful guided blind dates, group events, and coaching online. Alexandra is a depth practitioner amid the other roles they play in daily life—approaching life as a practice. They are a certified Kundalini Yoga teacher, and a Reiki Master Teacher and practitioner trained in the Usui Method, and a Vipassana practitioner. Alexandra has 10+ years of facilitating experiences, and holding space for groups to connect, collaborate, and create. Prior to founding humhum Alexandra worked as a consultant in Strategic Design and Product Management at BCG Digital Ventures, facilitating product innovation sprints for fortune 100 teams.
