About this Event

Course Overview

Beyond BASIC Mechanical Ventilation Course, delivered over two days, is designed to equip critical care clinicians with the essential skills needed to manage mechanically ventilated critically ill patients with various pathologies. It offers a problem-solving approach to the assessment and management of ventilated patients presenting common respiratory issues in the ICU.

The Mechanical Ventilation course includes the course material delivered through didactic lectures and interactive small group teaching.

The course includes a pre-reading, a pre-test, and a post-test. The pre-course material is provided in the form of a book and provides essential background knowledge to help you better understand the course content. Pre- test is provided with the book and is a formative assessment that is attempted after reading the book but prior to the course, while the post-test is a summative assessment to test comprehension after completing the course.

This course was developed by Professor Charles Gomersall, Professor Gavin Joynt, Associate Professor Ross Freebairn, and the Chinese University of Hong Kong.

Target Audience for This Course
