This 12-week wellness group is designed specifically for Black men and focuses on holistic aspects of life and manhood. This group is led by clinical psychologist Dr. Jeffrey A. Suiter. The group explores topics like relationships, sense of belonging, financial health, and more.
Each week offers two hours of open conversation, reflection, and connection among Black men. Participants will share stories, unpack challenges, and confront the traumas that may be holding them back, all within a safe, supportive, and judgment-free space. Together, they’ll explore what healthy manhood looks like while working to heal and overcome systemic barriers.
Every session will feature a new topic and experiential activity. For example, in week one, the group will dive into the concept of identity and what it means to be a Black man. This discussion will include a guided analysis of Kendrick Lamar’s music, specifically songs exploring his upbringing and family dynamics, as a way to reflect on familial relationships and generational patterns.

Dr. Jeffrey A. Suiter is a Detroit native and clinical psychologist whose holistic, culturally affirming approach empowers clients to heal, grow, and live authentically. With deep roots in Pro-Black consciousness and extensive experience in mental health leadership, Dr. Suiter creates safe, restorative spaces for self-discovery and resilience. Guided by Howard Thurman’s philosophy, he helps clients navigate life’s challenges with compassion, clarity, and purpose.
