It’s the perfect midweek escape, with an average of 200 people attending each week! Immerse yourself in Latin culture as we feature Latin World Music tunes, Latin Dance, Pop, Rock, from 7-9 PM with DJ Papi & DJ A-Beatz mixing the best tropical social dancing rhythms until 2 AM.
But it’s not just about the music – this is a great place to meet new people and unwind after a long day.
We have a happy hour/networking session from 7-8:30 pm, with drink specials to make you smile 🍻 and don’t forget the $3 Tacos, $5 Margaritas, and $6 1800 Tequila Shots!

The Best Vintage Social Dancer Contest
to represent Tropical Thursdays at the Chicago International Salsa Congress 2025.
Semifinals: 01/29, 02/05 & 02/12
FINAL: Feb, 12th
Salsa/Mambo, Bachata & Cha Cha Cha
Rules:
No Professionals (Earn your living as)
No Lifts & No Tricks (Always one foot on the floor)
No Choreography
Not a Jack N’ Jill. You need to compete with the same partner, and one person leads, and the other follows all the time.
Qualifying 2 couples per week to the Final on 2/12.
The contest will take place after 11:30p.
Judging:
Audience applause during the semi-finals.
Judges during Finals + Audience = 1 judge
Judges will score on:
Proficiency in lead/follow ability/fluidity,
Rhythm competency/mastery in 3 rhythms (salsa/mambo, Cha-cha-cha and bachata),
Degree of partner interaction and enjoyment of dancing
Prizes:
Sponsored prizes and Gift certificates to the top 3 couples at the Final on Tue 02/11.
The winning couple goes straight to the final round at CISC 2025 on Thursday 02/13 to compete and get a chance to win:
– $550 for 1st place
– $350 for 2nd place
– $250 for 3rd per couple
