About this Event
Join us for a special event on our dedication of the "Bergman Barn." The Bergman's, who built this barn in the early 1900's, cared for the land for three generations. Barr Lake State Park restored the barn to honor their story.
Meet us at the Boat Ramp parking area where we will shuttle all participants to the Bergman Barn location. At the barn we will have activities including:
- Live Raptor presentation by "Nature's Educators."
- Bird walks hosted by the "Bird Conservancy of the Rockies."
- Local historian (Robin Kring) dressed in era character as "Daisy Fricke" will speak on the dairy industry near Brighton and the connection to early farming in the area.
- A craft "branding" station, and kid's arts and crafting area.
- Stage performers that will take you back in time to early homesteading on the plains.
- Photo ops station to capture memories as pictures.
- Snacks and drinks area.
- Park historians answering questions about local history of Barr Lake and Splendid Valley.
- Aim and Shoot. BB gun/air rifle station.
