About this Event

BEIJA BAILES: beijabailesmusic.com

"Born and raised in Seattle, Beija Bailes brings her full-self through captivating vocals, making classic standards sound new while taking familiar rock ballads and making them swing. Whether she's singing solo while playing piano, or backed by The Brooders - a full rockabilly band - Beija Bailes entertains as much through her music as through her smiles and audience connection.

Backed by Seattle's favorite hometown all-stars, The Brooders are a boast of alt-country roots, Northwest pride, and dueling guitar/violin solos. Through guitars, piano keys, violin, bass, and drums (played with brushes that can still get you to cut a rug), Beija Bailes and The Brooders entertain with great musicianship and multiple harmonies. Their original music stands out with its sing-along melodies while the songwriting fully embraces (and yet lovingly pokes at) life in the Northwest and all that we hold dear.

Beija Bailes and The Brooders are super excited to bring their music and fun to Abbey Arts in upper Fremont. You won't want to miss this rising local vocalist - Beija Bailes will be delivering her mesmerizing leading vocals on some jazzy-swing versions of songs, including artists like Lenny Kravitz, Nina Simone, and The White Stripes."

THE BROODERS: thebrooders.com

"Boasting a mix of alt-country roots, Northwest pride, and dueling guitar vs violin solos, The Brooders deliver smart songs about life in the Northwest. Led by singer-songwriter Jay Waltmunson and drummer Matt Galloway, The Brooders are known for their stage banter and audience-inclusive interactions.

With guitar, piano, violin, bass, and drums, The Brooders entertain with harmonies, heart, and well written songs. Their original tunes stand out with upbeat, catchy, sing-along melodies while the songwriting fully embraces (and yet lovingly pokes at) life in the Northwest and all that we hold dear."

THE HIPOCRATS: thehipocrats.com

"There are some voices that are just meant to go together, be it Simon and Garfunkel, Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova, Joy Williams and John Paul White of the Civil Wars or Sarah Brunner and Tyler McGinnis of the Hipocrats. When the magic is found, it must be shared, and sustained as long as possible. Their EP "Road to Joy" is only the beginning, as these harmonies and arrangements have many tales to tell, and they will tell them majestically. Stay tuned."

JILIAN LINKLATER: jilianlinklater.com

"Lake Orion, Michigan born singer-songwriter Jilian Linklater had no idea a Taylor Swift Karaoke contest would be the catalyst of her songwriting career in 2008. But when she won a trip to Nashville at 17 and learned “people wrote songs for a living”, she was hooked and never looked back.

Jilian moved to Nashville in 2010 where she attended Belmont University, majoring in Songwriting and Music Business. She studied under Grammy award winning and Songwriter Hall of Fame writers - including two of her now biggest mentors - Dave Ramsey (India.arie) and Tom Douglas (Miranda Lambert, Alabama, George Strait).

Over the next 11 years Jilian penned songs that landed her writing credits with recording artists Jason Gray, JJ Heller, MamaDear, Caroline Kole and more. Her songs have been featured by national brands including Disney, Amazon, and Netflix as well as television shows American Ninja Warrior, Degrassi and many more. Her writing prowess got her into writing rooms with some of Nashville’s top writers and producers including Dave Berg (Keith Urban, Reba) and Cason Cooley (Ben Rector, Ingrid Michaelson) as well as onto coveted Nashville songwriter stages like the famous Bluebird Cafe. Jilian’s self released records and singles have also accumulated over 6 million spins on Spotify.

Jilian’s honest and authentic voice paired with her conversational and confessional lyrics have captured listeners and artists alike. Jilian currently resides in Seattle, WA with her dog Toby and travel companion “Wildflower” - a van she converted with her grandfather in 2021."
