If you’re ready to take your calligraphy to the next level, copperplate is the perfect place to begin! This elegant, flowing script is easily the most beloved pointed pen style—and now you can learn how to master it!

In this class, you’ll be introduced to:

The fundamentals of copperplate, including slant, spacing, and proportions
All essential characters, including uppercase, lowercase, numbers, and punctuation
Pressure-and-release techniques to create copperplate’s signature thin and thick strokes
The pointed pen, how it differs from broad-edged dip pens, and how to use it effectively
A special in-class project, where you’ll create a beautifully decorated letter

This is the final course in the beginner sequence, but even if you haven’t taken the earlier classes, you’re welcome if you have prior dip pen experience!

WHO: This class is designed for adults and mature adolescents.

PREREQUISITE: Mastering Dip Pens OR at least 2 months' study with dip pens.

WHERE: Online via Zoom.

(LIVE interactive online workshop, 12 students maximum)

RECORDINGS: Available for review for an extended period.

WHEN: This class includes 8 weekly lessons,

on Tuesdays, September 23 through November 11, 2025,

from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm Eastern Time.
