Beginner Survival is the entry point into our hands-on outdoor survival program. These sessions focus on building strong foundations through active learning, teamwork, and real-world outdoor skill development. Participants learn the core principles of wilderness awareness, safety, decision-making, and practical survival techniques in a structured and supportive environment.
Each session emphasizes confidence-building through guided instruction and hands-on challenges. Skills are introduced clearly, practiced thoroughly, and reinforced through movement-based activities and problem-solving scenarios. These classes are designed to prepare participants for more complex and immersive survival applications in the future.
Thursday, June 18th - Beginner Survival: Foundations II
Continue building practical survival skills with a focus on decision-making, navigation, teamwork, and response strategies. Participants may practice map use, rescue concepts, shelter improvements, and outdoor problem-solving in dynamic environments. This session reinforces core knowledge and prepares students for applied survival challenges.
This program runs from 9:30am-2:30pm and will meet in St. Francis Hall in the main CEC Neu Building. (see map below)
This program is open to anyone 9-16 years old who has completed Foundations Level I (during any year) OR is at least 12 years old. Please note: we do not make exceptions to the minimum age requirement.
Completion of Foundations II (during any year) allows for enrollment in Advanced Survival Camps. If you are signed up to take Foundations II this summer, you can sign up for Advanced Camps for a later date this same summer.

A minimum of five participants is required to run this program. In the event of cancellation due to low enrollment, you will have the option to receive a refund or transfer your registration to another available date.
