About this Event
Discover the art of Sashiko!
Sashiko is a traditional Japanese form of functional embroidery worked in running stitch on indigo-dyed fabric. Rooted in geometric precision, its patternsĀ are built on a grid system where stitch length, spacing, and angle create interlocking motifs like hemp leaves, ocean waves, and tortoiseshell.
In this hands-on workshop, you'll learn to transfer and follow a grid pattern and the unique stitching method of Sashiko. Slow down and stitch something beautiful!
No prior stitching experience required.
$50 per person + All materials provided + take home kit including special needle, thimble thread and your project to continue working.
Best for ages 16 and upĀ / Spaces limited
