This concert has so many special elements to it, it's hard to know where to start! We are so excited to bring this event to you in order to celebrate wonderful music making in our town.We have Carolyn Sampson OBE, an internationally renowned soprano soloist, often on Radio 3 and performing all over the world including Amsterdam, Paris, Tokyo, London - and for us, in Bedford. Carolyn is going to be singing, Exsultate , jubilate a joyous piece, written by Mozart, when he was a teenager.
The whole concert is a celebration of extraordinary young composers from those many centuries ago and including the pieces of our three amazing winners of the BOS Young Composers' Competition 2026.
We're most grateful to Mark Phillips, Ian Smith, Paul Whitmarsh, Debbie Saunders, Kate Knight for their work as expert panellists, and we'd like to thank our sponsors, the Rotary Club of Bedford Castle.
Impressive just doesn't do these young people justice - they are hugely talented, but also committed, disciplined and on a path to being composers with a message to share with us.
Tickets are already selling quickly, as you can imagine, with a lot of demand from many young people who want to come to hear the work of their friends being performed by Bedford Sinfonia. We're so looking forward to welcoming the winners, their teachers, families and friends to celebrate with them this very special occasion.
So join us!
