About this Event

Becoming Climate Resilient training is a one-day course exploring climate adaptation, climate risk, and opportunities to build resilience and a fairer, flourishing future. The training is delivered by sustainability charity, Verture and endorsed by the Edinburgh Climate Change Institute.

As climate change brings about more frequent and severe disruption across the systems we all rely upon, building resilience is an increasingly urgent priority for businesses, government and communities. Yet, adapting to climate change remains a new challenge for many.

Becoming climate resilient provides opportunities not only for responding to climate risks, but also to generate a range of positive benefits for people and nature, now and for the years ahead.

What you will learn

Learning outcomes:

  • Understand responses to climate change, and what is meant by adaptation and resilience
  • Explore climate trends and projections for Scotland and identify climate risks
  • Understand drivers for adaptation action
  • Identify opportunities for co-benefits of climate adaptation
  • Explore case studies of resilience and adaptation in action

How will the course be run?

This one day short course will be delivered on-site at ECCI, Edinburgh and will consist of presentations, interactive workshops, and group discussion. This format will allow you to engage with other participants, and opportunities to apply learning to your organisation’s context.
