About this Event
Grant Faulkner and Tavia Stewart
The Brower Center - Goldman Theater
Are you a writer/author with an idea for a reading series, a literary podcast, or a course you want to develop and teach? Maybe you’ve imagined launching a literary nonprofit, magazine, bookstore, or even a book festival. Whether you’ve started to cobble together a creative life in addition to your writing—or maybe you’re already doing it—you’re an authorpreneuer.
In this session, two noted Bay Area authorpreneurs, Tavia Stewart and Grant Faulkner, offer an inspiring and practical discussion that covers what they’ve learned about growing literary- and book-adjacent businesses, drawing on decades of experience as creators, publishers, producers, educators, event planners, and literary change-makers.
There will not be table space provided in our Writers' Workshop venues, so in addition to bringing paper and a pen, we recommend bringing a book or other hard surface to write on.
