About this Event

Beast of Bodmin Silver Pendant Workshop

Create a fine silver creature shaped by the wild heart of Bodmin Moor.

Long before jewellery was made for adornment, it was made for meaning. Across ancient landscapes, people carried small objects of metal, bone, and stone to protect, empower, and remind them of who they were. Cornwall’s moorland is steeped in mystery and magic - a place where myths linger like mist over the tors.

This workshop invites you to step into that tradition and discover creativity. You will craft a pendant inspired by the Beast of Bodmin - the elusive shadow said to move between the granite outcrops and wind-bent gorse. A creature symbolising mystery, instinct, and the wilderness of the moor.

Using silver clay, you’ll shape and sculpt your own beast. Silver clay begins soft and earthy in your hands, allowing every texture and mark to be formed with intention. When fired, it transforms into solid fine silver (99.9%) - a small piece of alchemy that mirrors the transformation of legend into something you can hold.

To awaken your creature, you can embed yellow sparkly CZ stones into the design, giving it bright, watchful eyes like tiny flashes of light that echo the sightings whispered about across Bodmin Moor.

Once fired and polished, your pendant becomes a piece of pure silver infused with story: part folklore, part landscape, part you.

This workshop is perfect for beginners, myth-lovers, and anyone drawn to Cornwall and the moor’s rugged beauty. No previous jewellery experience is needed - just curiosity, imagination, and a willingness to create something meaningful with your own hands.

Join Rebecca and craft your own silver creature born of Cornwall’s wildest places and your own creative instinct.

This is a full day workshop with hot drinks and nibbles provided . There will be a break for lunchwhich you can bring yourself or buy something in the cafes and bakeries nearby.
