KENDALL BROWN
Kendall Brown is in love with music. Like a cross between Jeff Lynne (of Electric Light Orchestra), John Denver, and Tom Lehrer, Kendall crafts catchy songs which blend pop melodies, folk sensibilities, and intelligent humor. His lyrics explore the yin and yang of life: darker moments have a ray of hope, contemplative songs have a sense of fun, and his tales of modern love usually come with a twist. A Kendall show is always a good time.
I have been in love with music literally as long as I can remember. Some of my earliest memories involve listening to my Dad's classical records. Then came the music I heard at church - a mixture of traditional hymns and gospel folk music. Later, I discovered pop and rock music. :) I listen to and appreciate many styles, and all of them influence me, to some degree.
I took piano lessons from second grade through sixth grade and played trombone in band from fifth grade all the way through college. I also sang in grade school and high school choirs. I did my first acting in grade school and was involved in drama groups all through high school and college. I began writing poetry in my late teens and writing songs in my late twenties (which coincided with my learning to play bass guitar).
In addition to playing solo (bass & vocals), I have also been involved in several bands over the past three decades, playing folk, pop, calypso, and rock.
Music is my passion and my life, and I'm so grateful to be able to share my gifts with the world.
