Click to register: https://forms.gle/wTx71AAfV7xm1g9t9Join us for a 2 day workshop to make a beaded pouch with Lynne Joly-Davis, a local Metis artist. She has been mentored by Elder Joyce from Wabasca, Felice Gladue from Beaumont and other talented artists. She has experience in beadwork, sewing, hide moccasins and mittens, as well as, other Metis historical arts.
The beaded pouch is 6 1/2 inches by 10 or 12 inches. Other participants said that the pouch reminds them of their Kookum's bingo pouch but you can use yours for whatever you want.
The first Sunday is to choose your melton cloth, fabric and your beading pattern. We sew the lining together and put in the string.
There are several weeks between to be able to get your beading done. The last Sunday is to finish putting it together or to continue your beading.
