About this Event
AID Bay Area's Run for India (BARFI) program provides 4 months' training from March through the summer – this year, we will be training for the scenic Rodeo Valley Trail Run on August 1. The training is provided by experienced coaches and runners and participation needs no prior running experience.
- Training runs early every Saturday morning, usually in scenic Rancho San Antonio (off I-280 in Los Altos).
- You may run and/or hike as your ability permits.
- We are the first and only desi running program training for a trail race!
- We will have training programs for both Half Marathon and 8K.
- We will enjoy a delicious healthy breakfast after every Saturday run.
- The registration fee also covers a race-day moisture-wicking BARFI T-shirt.
In its 17th year, Bay Area Run for India (BARFI) is a volunteer-led program to promote fitness, build community and support grassroots NGOs in India.
Paricipants in the BARFI program raise funds to support the Association for India's Development (AID), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that promotes sustainable, just and equitable development in India.
We ask that each participant raises at least $500 over the course of the season. This is surprisingly easy, and mentors will guide you through the fundraising process. All donations are tax-deductible, and your employer may match donations. You are of course welcome (and encouraged!) to raise even more than $500!
