In her stunning new collection, Floy focuses her considerable talent on painting beautiful native Bay Area birds. After spending many years painting birds inspired by her travels abroad, Floy has created a breathtaking new series of works celebrating the remarkable species found close to home. Her deep affection and immense respect for her subjects shines through in her playful combination of technical accuracy set against environments that feel loose, vibrant, and spontaneous. Floy explains the inspiration behind her new collection, saying “Observing and painting birds brings me immense joy. In this collection, I aim to showcase the incredible diversity of birds in our area and the beauty found just beyond our doorstep.’

Floy is a master at painting birds in their natural habitats and infuses each piece with joy, serenity, peace and wonder. In her latest collection, Floy’s engaging and elegant compositions celebrate the individuality of her subjects and infuse each piece with an air of quiet dignity and ethereal grace. Her latest paintings invite the viewer to pause and rediscover the extraordinary beauty hiding in plain sight in our local landscapes.
