Join us for a relaxed 2 and a half hour session to help you get to know your bike, pick up some key maintenance skills, and feel more confident keeping it in good shape. Drinks and snacks are provided, and there’s parking available for cars, bikes, scooters and buggies.
The M-Check
We’ll start with the simple pre-ride check used by mechanics and instructors everywhere. You’ll go step by step through the “M-Check” on your own bike, learning how to spot loose bolts, wobbly wheels, or anything that needs a quick tweak.
Fixing a Flat
Punctures happen but they don’t have to ruin your ride. We’ll show you how to take off your wheel, change the tube, and get everything back together again. You’ll have time to practise it yourself with a bit of guidance.
Cleaning and Care
A clean bike rides better and lasts longer. We’ll show you quick and easy ways to keep yours running smoothly, plus how to check if your chain’s wearing out.
Ask the Mechanic
Finish with a friendly Q&A over a cuppa. Bring your questions, big or small and our mechanic will help you make sense of them.
Our 12:30 Thursday sessions follow on from our Community Kitchen at MAC, so feel free to join us beforehand for a free meal and a chat before we get started.
