This Basic Beekeeping Course is designed to give new and beginning beekeepers a strong, practical foundation for keeping healthy and productive honey bee colonies. Participants will explore the history of honey bees, learn essential bee biology and behavior, and become familiar with standard beekeeping equipment (woodware) and how each component functions within the hive. Each attendee will receive a course book to use during class and take home as a reference.The course also covers essential hive management topics, including how to conduct proper hive inspections, identify normal versus problem conditions, and manage colonies throughout the beekeeping season. Lunch and snacks are included, allowing participants to enjoy a full day of learning without interruption.
