Bark at the Park

Get ready for the second annual Bark at the Park presented by The Guardsmen - an unforgettable event that combines canine charm, tail-wagging excitement, and fun for the whole family (kids 12 and under are free!). Join us on Saturday August 17th, 2024, at the Main Parade Lawn in The Presidio, where we'll transform the sprawling field into a dog wonderland and full on good time!

Join fellow dog lovers and immerse yourself in a day filled with puppy love, delicious local food and drinks, and exciting activitations. Bark at the Park promises an array of fun activities that will keep you entertained from start to finish. Witness the extraordinary talent and cuteness overload at our dog show, where the most talented and adorable canines will strut their stuff. Discover a variety of local pet vendors offering the latest in products and services.

All guests will be eligible to participate in the Dog Show. The show will consist of three separate events:

1. Best dressed dog (with extra points for matching owner costumer)
2. Best trick
3. Best poem about a dog

Signups will take place the morning of the event. Guests can enter their dog in any or all events; just come prepared! The show will be hosted by a special celebrity MC, and judged by an esteemed panel of canine enthusiasts. Winners will receive prizes in an official Guardsmen award ceremony.

Satisfy your hunger with delicious bites from local food trucks and quench your thirst with craft beer and cocktails. Unleash your competitive spirit in exciting lawn games and enjoy infectious beats that will have you dancing all day long.

THE BEST PART:

All proceeds from this event support The Guardsmen, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in 1947. The members of this all-volunteer organization mobilize their significant talents and resources to enhance and improve the lives of at-risk youth by providing them access to high-quality educational and outdoor activities. Children: FREE admittance for children 12 and under.

Parking: There is street parking surrounding the Main Parade Lawn, but it is limited. We suggest ride-hailing or public transportation (such as the PresidiGo shuttle).

Suggested Attire: Summer casual attire. Remember that the event will be entirely outdoors and temperatures subject to whatever SF chooses to serve up that day.

Restrooms On Site: Portable restrooms will be available at the event.

Safety & Behavior: The Presidio is a public space. Please make sure you and your animal are respectful of the public, other guests, and the Guardsmen volunteers hosting the event. Security will be onsite to maintain a safe and respectful environment. Unruly guests (human and animal) will be asked to leave.
