Book Swap & Sip with Old Stove Gardens X Lost The Plot | BANNED BOOK EDITION
Join us for an afternoon of book swapping, reading banned books, getting bookish tattoos, making friends, and sipping delicious brews at Old Stove Brewing Co - Gardens in Ballard!
It’s the perfect excuse to meet fellow book lovers and get some new books for your TBR. We'll also have tattoo artists on-site offering bookish flash tattoos. More information on that coming very soon!
Bring 1-3 gently pre-loved books to swap with others, and come ready for a night of sipping delicious brews and hanging out with fellow book lovers.
Plus, this edition of Book Swap & Sip will feature a Banned Book Read-In. Bring (or buy) a banned book to read in the brewery for an hour and discuss with fellow attendees. You'll also get a free audiobook courtesy of Libro.fm (Lula Dean's Little Library of Banned Books by Kirsten Miller).
If you don’t have a free Libro.fm account already, you’ll be required to make one to start listening (no purchase or credit card information necessary).
Schedule*:
6-7pm: Arrive, drop off/swap books, grab drinks/food, shop for new books, sign up for flash tattoo, and socialize
7-8pm: "Silent" reading time (please note this won't be strictly enforced, and this event takes place in a busy brewery on a Saturday night, plus tattooing will still be going on. But we will have tables & chairs set aside for reading!)
8-9pm: Socialize, continue book swap, shop for new books, get flash tattoos
*Please note, you're more than welcome to read, shop, and swap at any point during the night! This is just a loose guideline for approximately when the bulk of the read-in will take place.
