This is an inclusive drop-in 90 minute class that covers the basics of partnered social dancing including lead and follow, dance etiquette, basic rhythm, and some patterns. Each week we will cover a different dance. The first 45 minutes of class we will introduce and cover fundamentals and basic patterns of each dance together. For the last 45 minutes of class we will split into two groups. Beginners will be able to practice, while experienced students are taught more advanced patterns, technique, and styling.Schedule:
Tango - June 2nd & July 14th
Cha Cha - June 9th & July 21st
Waltz - June 16th & July 28th
Swing - June 23rd
Foxtrot - June 30th
Rumba - July 7th
No experience is required, and no partner is required. Dance shoes or high heels are NOT required. All students will learn both dance roles (lead and follow). Gendered language is NOT used, and ALL are welcome, so come as you are. The suggested cost of this class is $15 per student, however no one will be turned away due to inability to pay full price.
Parking at Broadway Academy of Performing Arts is located in the rear of the building on Lamar Street. Street parking is also available.
