The History Center and the YWCA invite you to join us for this special event celebrating Evanston women and organizations that work towards balancing the scales in gender equality. The program will include: * film clips by Evanston filmmaker Susan Hope Engel. Engel chronicled the stories of courageous Northshore women for the YWCA’s YWomen program from 2008-2024. We will show two inspiring clips: profiles of theater maker Gloria Bond Clunie and activist philanthropist Marjorie Craig Benton
* Bond Clunie and Craig Benton will join us share their stories and what "Balancing the Scales” means to them
* A mini-exhibition from the archives of the YWCA, highlighting the Y’s work empowering women
* Music by Evanston-based singer-songwriter Sarah Marie Young * Poetry on demand by Kro, The Traveling Typist
* Tea, coffee, punch and treats will be served in the beautiful Dawes House
Tickets $10, free to Evanston History Center members.
