BALANCE: A Perimenopause Journey — Dallas Community Screening
Join us in Dallas for a screening of BALANCE: A Perimenopause Journey, a docuseries created and directed by award-winning North Texas monk-filmmakers that chronicles their firsthand journey through perimenopause and exposes a broader women’s health crisis that too often stays in the shadows-until now.
After discovering their low hormone levels are caused by perimenopause, they seek to regain balance while experiencing symptoms including sleeplessness, fatigue, anxiety, and mood swings. As they search for answers, they encounter roadblocks of misinformation, lack of education, and inequality throughout the medical system. The series explores how the Women’s Health Initiative study (2002) shaped harsh views on hormone therapy and follows their conversations with experts and patients as they work to address misinformation and help women make informed choices.
