The double feature will bring together two brilliant comedic minds that share one common goal. To fit in. Gillian’s half hour follows her journey to make her big break while working in paradise, Times Square! Bahlya’s half hour follows his journey of examining his blackness, an encounter with gang that leads him on a decade long immersion into whiteness. Will he ever conceive the notion of black joy?
Bahlya Yansane (Bahlya Yansane - @bahlyathe3rd) is a stand up comedian, actor, writer and Aries. You’ll probably get his name right by the third interaction. It’s pronounced Bah-Lee-Ah Yan-Suh-Nay. His career started with improv and sketch writing classes at the Upright Citizens Brigade, The People’s Improv Theater and Brooklyn Comedy Collective. His comedy style and tone is thought provoking, irreverent, bold, goofy and autobiographical. His career started in Brooklyn, NY, so why not put Brooklyn based standup comedian? Gillian Gurganus (@oneinagillian @messyqueensnyc) is a comedian, host, storyteller, and Libra currently residing in Manhattan. She has performed with the Upright Citizens Brigade, The People’s Improv Theater, Brooklyn Comedy Collective, Caveat, and of course, Zoom! Gillian performs her material all over NYC and can be seen hosting her comedic storytelling show, Messy Queens, monthly at Good Judy in Park Slope. @oneinagillian @messyqueensnyc
Bailey Swilley (@heybailey) is a writer and comedian residing in Brooklyn, NY. She is the host of We Love A Theme, a monthly storytelling show at Pete’s Candy Store. Bailey also co-hosts Pretty Women, a Real Housewives Musical Revue, monthly at Good Judy in Park Slope. @heybailay
