Description:
An interdisciplinary program that merges visual art, live music, and film to foster cross-disciplinary dialogue and community engagement, Bagatelle brings together a team of artists whose work bridges mediums and traditions. Presented by Kinematografika, an experimental arts collective, in collaboration with Professor Tali Morgulis of the UH Moores School of Music, the event features illustrations from the forthcoming graphic novel Bagatelle by award-winning illustrator Igor Karash, paired with live piano improvisation and a screening of the short film Bagatelle by writer and filmmaker Daniel Levin. Rachel Buchman, a musician, voice artist, and educator, lends her interpretive readings to Levin’s script, giving voice to the narrative as images and music intertwine. Designed to expand access to contemporary artistic practice, the program invites audiences to experience the creative process through performance, exhibition, and conversation. Fine art prints will be available for purchase, with refreshments served; the program will run approximately 90 minutes.
