Back to the Roots – A Consistent Practice

The workshop series Back to the Roots offers a consistent approach to practicing yoga in the traditional Ashtanga Vinyasa method. Through these lessons, students will learn how to properly perform the Ashtanga Vinyasa Primary Series, enabling them to develop a personal practice or sadhana focused on the foundational elements of Vinyasa: breath, movement, and drishti.

During the sessions, we will analyze specific asanas (body postures) in depth, providing students with opportunities to continue learning, practicing, and improving them. Traditional counting and chanting will be incorporated into each workshop session to allow participants to experience the profound effects of these ancient practices through voice, sound, and repetition.

The knowledge gained in these sessions can be applied not only in traditional Mysore or LED Ashtanga lessons but also in various types of Vinyasa classes, including slow flow, power yoga, or gentle flow.

All levels are welcome in this course, although it is not recommended for total beginners.

Javier de la Rosa is a certified and well-known yoga teacher with many years of experience. Since 2018, he has been working freelance between Berlin and Madrid, developing his philosophical, physical, and artistic practices through Yoga and Contemporary Dance.
