Babysitter’s Training with Pediatric CPR & First Aid

This class meets on April 2nd and April 3rd from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Join us for a 2-day Babysitter Training program designed to prepare students with the skills and confidence needed to safely care for children.

This hands-on, instructor-led class combines the American Red Cross Babysitter’s Training curriculum with certification in Pediatric CPR and First Aid. Participants will learn essential childcare skills, safety awareness, and how to respond to emergencies while babysitting.

This class is ideal for students who want to take on responsibility, help care for younger siblings, or earn extra income through babysitting.

All training materials and lunch are provided.

Students will learn:

• The role and responsibilities of a babysitter
• Supervision essentials and injury prevention
• Safe home practices and emergency planning
• Caring for infants, toddlers, and school age children
• Feeding safety and basic hygiene practices
• How to handle common babysitting situations such as crying, behavior challenges, and stranger safety
• When and how to contact parents
• Communication skills and babysitting business basics

Participants will engage in group discussions, hands-on activities, and scenario-based learning to build confidence and decision-making skills.

Lunch is provided.

Students will learn:

• How to recognize an emergency
• Scene safety and calling 911
• Infant CPR
• Child CPR
• Choking response for infants and children
• Hands-on CPR skill practice using training manikins
• Pediatric first aid for cuts, bleeding, burns, allergic reactions, head injuries, and illness recognition

Participants will practice skills in a supportive environment and apply what they learn through guided emergency scenarios.

Lunch is provided.
