A series of gentle sound sessions for caregivers and their babies (pre-crawling)
About this Event

[This is a series of 4 weekly x 60-minute sessions]

Hey Mama,

You did it!

Your bundle of joy is everything that you always dreamed of and more. The milk drunk looks as your baby dozes off in your arms; the smell of their hair (seriously, do they bottle that stuff?!); the feel of their velvety smooth skin on yours; their little hand squeezing your finger...I could go on and on.

And yet, with all that magic and joy also come sleepless nights, a frazzled nervous system, relationship shifts, heightened anxiety, overwhelm....the list goes on and on. It's easy to see that the market is focussed and geared towards that of the baby post birth; mothers and the tremendous emotional and physical load that they carry is often an afterthought.

That's why I decided to create these nourishing Baby & Me Sound Rest sessions - with mums, dads, caregivers, grandparents in mind. Because those that provide care in those tender early days, desperately need it themselves. For babies 2 months of age up until pre-crawling. There's nothing for you to do during these sessions but to simply turn up with your baby, rest on the mat (however that looks for you) and hope to get a few moments of shut eye whilst you and your little angel listen to some soothing sounds in the background.

We are not kidding ourselves here- babes will be babes and there will be crying, fussing and all the feels I'm sure. You are absolutely free to move, change, feed, carry, rock your little one whenever you need to. You can step out of the room at any time and we are not aiming for perfection (there's no such thing!)

I'm Theresa - a local mum of two young girls and I have held gong baths since 2018. I have played my gong and attended sessions during both my pregnancies and found it to be very soothing and calming. I also know what that first year of motherhood feels like and all the challenges associated with it - especially when you don't have a so called village around or any close family support near by.

If you have attended gong baths or sound meditations before, these sessions will be different as they will center around mums/caregivers and very young babies . Both with very delicate nervous systems. So the aim is to use the instruments gently (no over the top stimulating baby sensory vibes in here!). They will be held in the morning which is a busy time in the andosteo studio, so I invite you to surrender as good as you can and accept the experience as it unfolds.

The instruments I will use will be played very gently and the volume level will be kept very low - this is to ensure everybody's nervous system gets the love they need and so little ones don't startle and simply enjoy the otherworldly and celestial sounds. I will work with my Chiron gong, Tibetan singing bowls, rattles, shakers, drum and chimes. The last 15 minutes of the session will be available for sharing, reflections and snacks - this is absolutely optional and you are also welcome to head out, should you wish to do so.

The flow of the 60- minute session will look as follows:

  • Arrival & Settling in
  • Guided Meditation
  • Gentle Sound Bath
  • Reflection, Sharing, Snacks
  • Good Byes

Session dates: 9th, 16th, 23rd, 30th of March from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm.

I'd love to nurture and hold you during this tender time, whilst you hold and connect with your precious little angel. You absolutely don't have to be into the woo woo stuff to enjoy this sound rest session. Come as YOU are!

These sessions can only be booked as a block of 4, as continuity and a weekly rhythm greatly benefits the connection with others and it gives you permission and space to take some well needed time to just be, soften and feel held.

Contraindications:
