Athletes, coaches, family members and tourists from all over the world are arriving to witness the splendour of the Second Hungarian Republic and its athletes, for whom the relegation of Mexico City represents a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to compete on home soil and to become the best in the world. The capital and the Budapest Metropolitan Police face an unprecedented challenge: to keep order in the Babel that is Budapest, where the fighting is not confined to the fencing ring, the swimming pool or the stadiums. Behind the scenes, the wealthy, the powerful and the influential play their country-wide game of power, where the stakes are not the gold, silver or bronze, but rather life and death, peace and war. During the chaos, Police Chief János Kádár is invited to a prestigious social event by an old friend, unaware that he is about to face one of the most difficult challenges of his entire career.
