About this Event
We're kicking off this year at the Shipyard with some of our favorite artists returning from last year, Aztlan and Ella Gallogly!
Aztlan is a psychedelic rock trio based in the D.C area. They draw from classic psychedelic rock and blues, Latin roots, and a contemporary groove to find a new modernized sound to facilitate the transfer of ideas and visions. Their music blends raw emotion, focused instrument work, and poetic lyricism into a powerful experience. They’re currently working on recording their debut album Day and Night, a journey through emotional duality and transformation. https://www.instagram.com/the.aztlan/
Ella Gallogly is a multi-instrumentalist with over three decades of experience. A cornerstone of the avant-garde DMV music scene, she showcases her talents as a drummer for Old Knife and as the lead guitarist and vocalist for the dynamic power trio, Lud Roes. Renowned for her passion for songwriting and technical artistry, Ella continually pushes the boundaries of creative expression. https://www.instagram.com/ella.g.music/
The Shipyard is a DIY venue in Silver Spring with a donation door. Donations are split between the artists and Abodes Joy, a MD-based nonprofit that trains and empowers diverse learners – women, nonbinary folx, and transgender people – in home repair to build skills, confidence, and community. https://www.abodesjoy.org/
