Ayurvedic Cooking Workshop: Rethinking Oil, Digestion, and Food as Medicine
In Ayurveda, food is more than fuel — it is medicine, ritual, and one of the most powerful ways to balance the body and mind. Yet one of the most misunderstood elements in modern cooking is oil. Today, we are often taught either to avoid oil entirely or to use it excessively, without understanding its true role in digestion, nourishment, and long-term health.
This interactive Ayurvedic cooking workshop invites you to rethink your relationship with oil through a holistic, evidence-informed lens rooted in thousands of years of Ayurvedic wisdom. Rather than following rigid diet trends or one-size-fits-all rules, Ayurveda teaches us how to cook intelligently — in harmony with our body type (dosha), digestive strength (agni), and the changing seasons.
During this hands-on demonstration, you’ll learn how to prepare light, flavorful meals without oil that support clarity, gut health, and natural energy. You’ll also discover when the right oils, used consciously and in proper amounts, can enhance nutrient absorption, support metabolism, and promote overall vitality. This workshop focuses on core fundamentals, helping you understand not just what to cook, but why certain methods transform how your body feels.
This is an interactive experience where participants engage directly with the instructor as she prepares dishes, offering practical techniques you can immediately apply in your daily life — whether you follow a plant-based, vegetarian, vegan, whole-food, anti-inflammatory, or gut-health-focused diet.
In this workshop, you will learn how to:
- Understand the Ayurvedic perspective on oil, digestion, and metabolism
- Prepare nourishing, oil-free meals that support energy and mental clarity
- Select and use oils intentionally to enhance healing and nutrient absorption
- Strengthen digestion using Ayurvedic cooking techniques and food combinations
- Apply Ayurvedic principles to modern dietary goals like plant-based eating, clean eating, and holistic wellness
This workshop is ideal for:
