About this Event
Join us for our first Aya Tours “Ancient Egypt Experience” at the British Museum — a gentle, inclusive, and welcoming group outing created by Aya and her family to share a love of history, learning, and connection.
Aya is a young woman with autism who has a remarkable memory and a deep passion for Ancient Egypt. With her father and friends, she wants to offer an experience that’s friendly, neuro-diverse-aware, and designed for families, young people, and anyone who loves to learn in a supportive environment.
On this outing, we’ll visit the Ancient Egypt galleries — from the Rosetta Stone to life and death in the Nile Valley — and you’ll receive a booklet with curated highlights and fun facts. You’re free to explore at your own pace. Aya, her family and a few volunteers will be present as support-people/chaperones, offering help with the booklet, sharing background information when asked — but this is not a formal guided tour, and you are not obliged to follow a set route.
After the museum visit, we’ll meet at Fair Shot Café for hot drinks and an informal group gathering, where we can talk, share favourite finds, reflect on what we saw, and learn more about Fair Shot’s social mission.
We invite you to come along for a relaxed, community-focused afternoon of history, culture, and connection — all through Aya’s joyful lens.
If you’d like to, you can contribute a voluntary donation to help support Aya — to cover the costs of materials, booklets, and future community events. Donating is entirely optional and is not required to join the museum visit. Whether you donate or not, you are welcome to attend. Aya and her family will be there as friends and supporters — not as professional guides — to share what they love about Ancient Egypt and to enjoy the visit together.
