About this Event
Introduction to Boro
Learn the Japanese art of Boro - a beautiful, meditative stitching technique that layers fabric scraps and holds them together with simple running stitch.
This workshop is slow, repetitive, and restorative. We'll work stitch by stitch, creating something unique from offcuts and textile waste from Lived-In Repairs.
You're welcome to bring a garment to stitch directly onto (cotton or denim works best), but it's not a requirement - you can work on a sample piece instead.
No sewing experience needed. Just bring yourself and a willingness to sit with something quiet.
All materials provided.
Ay-Up Market is hosted on Old Market Square and this workshop will be delivered in the workshop marquee located in front of the tourist information centre at the side of the council house.
