Our small group social walks are for dogs and handlers who wish to improve upon/maintain their confidence and reduce reactivity around other dogs, people and the environment. Saturday 6th June at Thrapston Sailing Club, Meadow Lane, Thrapston, Northamptonshire, NN14 4LU. Please park in the car park from 10:00, we will meet at to the side of the car park. May we request that you arrive in good time for a 10:30 start. It is £10 per dog to join this walk.Advance booking is required. There are just 15 places available. We intentionally keep these groups small, so as not to flood/overwhelm. The walks are all on lead and managed along the route to ensure both dog and handler have the opportunity for a positive experience.
To reserve your place, please private message our page with the name of your dog/s, then once confirmed, submit payment and mark the event as going. Places are strictly on a 1st come 1st served basis.
Payment to be made at the time of booking. Either via PayPal friends & family to: [email protected] alternatively, existing clients can transfer directly to my bank, please request details when you message to reserve a place on the walk.
Please note:
The car park is free and can get busy at times, hence invite to arrive on time. We will be walking around the lake and back through woodland. There is a cafe trailor in the car park at this location, Zeno's Cafe, plus there are facilities in the town. Alternatively, The Woolpack Inn at neighbouring Islip is an award winning and dog friendly pub.
The walk is a mixture of hardstanding, grass and woodland. We would recommend that you wear suitable footwear as sections of the walk may be wet.
All participants must keep their dog/s on lead during the walk. There is an on lead restriction at this venue, however not everyone complies so you may encounter off lead dogs. You will almost certainly encounter wildlife. You may wish to bring water with you for your dog. In the interest of safety, 1 dog per handler. If you wish to bring an additional dog please contact me. I would ask you not to use retractable leads, prong collars or e-collars at our walks please.
Due to the distance of this walk, it is not suitable for puppies. Please contact me on 07388 541407 for an option for puppies and younger dogs.
Social distancing guidelines are in place for the benefit of the dogs.
