About this Event
Do not book a Researchers from East Anglia ticket if this does not apply when the Researchers from other regions (UK) tickets are full, email Georgina on [email protected] to be added to the waiting list.
Sessions are free for students and staff from the NIHR, NHS, UK universities, public sector institutions and registered charities based in the UK. Please USE a work-associated work email to register (e.g. .nhs.uk, .ac.uk etc.). This session is not suitable for researchers from the private sector. Please contact the organiser if you have any further questions.
Please note if you do not attend, without cancelling or notifying the team in advance. We will cancel any further tickets booked. We are seeing between 30-40% drop out rate and have large waiting lists- please allow another researcher an opportunity to attend.
Researchers are routinely advised to avoid 'tokenism' or 'tickbox' PPIE - but what kinds of attitudes, approaches, actions and activities make public contributors feel like they're a box being ticked, rather than being valued for their contributions and experience?
Hear from public contributors in their own words, what makes them feel valued and what makes them feel as though their time is being wasted.
We explore common themes that create negative experiences for public contributors - as well as looking at practical ways to ensure that PPIE is a meaningful and positive experience for all involved.
Please note we work on PPI with adults; what's discussed can relate to all audiences; however, we do not specifically cover PPI with children or young people.
